Bible Video Lessons for Kids With a Quiz After Every Story: Which Apps Actually Check Understanding

Only two Bible apps for kids check whether a child understood the story they just watched: Faithful Kids (a three-question quiz and a reflection question after every one of its 300+ video lessons, ages 5 to 15) and BibleBuddy Kids ("3-question quizzes after every story," 82 stories, ages 6 to 8). Superbook, YouVersion's Bible App for Kids, Minno and SunScool all have games or trivia somewhere in the app, but none of them asks a question at the end of each story, so a child can watch for an hour and you cannot tell what stuck.

That distinction is the whole reason this page exists. "Has quizzes" appears in the description of almost every Bible app. "Asks three questions after every story and shows you the score" is a different product, and only two apps do it. Checked September 16, 2026.

What "quiz after every story" means, and why it matters

A quiz in a separate games tab tests whether a child feels like playing a trivia game. A quiz that appears the moment a story ends tests whether they were paying attention to that story — and it works because it is short, it is expected, and it closes the loop before the next thing starts. Teachers call this a comprehension check; the rest of us call it "so what happened to Daniel?" at the dinner table, except the app asks so you do not have to.

Two things follow from it. The child learns to watch differently, because they know a question is coming. And the parent gets a number — this story, this score — instead of "did you like it?"

The two apps that do it

Faithful Kids

Every lesson — more than 300 of them, in order from Genesis to Revelation — is a short narrated video (about two to three minutes) followed by a three-question quiz, then a reflection question the child answers by tapping response cards rather than typing. Scores go to a PIN-protected parent dashboard that shows what each child watched, how they did, and what they answered on the reflection, for up to five kid profiles. Ages 5 to 15; the quizzes suit confident readers, roughly seven and up, and younger children usually do them with a parent. Web and iOS; no ads; free for churches. BibleBuddy Kids

A story a day, "made for kids 6–8," with "3-question quizzes after every story," a "parent dashboard with weekly progress," and a weekly summary email. "No ads. No third-party tracking. No in-app chat." 82 stories from Genesis to Revelation. iOS only (iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later). $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $99 for life, with a 14-day free trial. For a six-year-old who wants one story a day with a quiz, it is the cheaper choice and a good one. It is not built for a ten-year-old, and there is no web version.

The apps that have quizzes somewhere, but not after each story

Superbook Kids Bible App (free, ages 5 to 12) has "more than 20 fun Bible games," including trivia and multiple-choice quizzes inside its Daily Bible Quest activities, alongside 68 animated episodes. The quizzes are not attached to the episodes; a child can watch every episode without answering a question. Parents get profiles and content controls, but not a per-story score.

Bible App for Kids (YouVersion, free, ages 4 to 8) has trivia questions among its activities — Story Memory Match, Sticker Story Time, Story Mixup — as games a child chooses to play. No quiz follows a story, and there is no parent view.

Minno ($10.99 a month or $69.99 a year, ages 2 to 10) is a streaming service: shows and screen-free audio, no quizzes at all. It is the right pick for a family that wants a Christian TV catalog, not for checking what was learned.

SunScool (free, ages 3 and up) is built around puzzles — word searches, crosswords, unscrambles, coloring — with 600+ lessons. The activities are the lesson, which is a good format for a young child, but they are not a comprehension check on a story.
