Here are 100 youth Bible trivia questions with answers and verse references, sorted into easy, medium, and hard tiers so one list can carry a room of sixth graders and seniors at the same time. Everything you need to run it -- team formats, round timing, and a scoring system that keeps the quiet kids in the game -- is in the first two minutes of reading below.
This is built for the reality of a youth night: you have about thirty minutes, half the group grew up in church and half did not, and somebody always shows up late. The tiers exist so you can hand out points fairly instead of watching three Bible-quiz kids run the table.
How Do You Run Bible Trivia at Youth Group?
Split the room into teams of four to six, ask questions in tiers, and cap the whole game at 30 minutes. Small teams matter more than anything else -- in a team of ten, six students stop thinking. Four to six means everyone gets a turn to be the one who knew it.
Three formats that work:
- Tiered teams (best default). Every team answers every question on a whiteboard or paper. Easy questions are worth 1 point, medium 2, hard 3. Nobody gets buzzed out, and slower readers still contribute.
- Buzzer steal. Alternate questions between two teams. If a team misses, the other team can steal for half a point. Fast and loud, but it favors the confident kids -- balance it with a written round.
- Category draft. Let team captains pick a tier before each question, like a game show. Teams that are behind gamble on hard questions, which keeps the last five minutes genuinely tense.
Timing for a 30-minute game: 3 minutes to form teams and name themselves, 8 minutes on easy questions (about 12 questions), 10 minutes on medium (about 12), 7 minutes on hard (about 8), 2 minutes to total scores and hand out something small. You will not use all 100 questions in one night. That is the point -- this list should last you a semester.
Scoring that keeps it fun: award 1, 2, and 3 points by tier, give every team one "double or nothing" card they can play once, and add a bonus point for any team that can name the book a question came from. That last rule quietly teaches Bible navigation better than a lesson on it would.
Two rules worth stating out loud: phones stay face down, and a wrong answer never gets a groan. The whole exercise falls apart the second a student feels dumb for not knowing where Habakkuk is.
