Welcome to the final episode of our Birth of Jesus series. We saved the best for last — because what happens here changed everything.
After eighteen years of growing up in Nazareth, it was finally time. I walked to the Jordan River, where my cousin John was baptizing crowds of people.
The moment John saw me, his eyes went wide: "Wait — YOU'RE coming to ME? I need to be baptized by YOU!"
He'd spent his whole life telling people someone greater was coming. And now that someone was stepping into the water right in front of him.
But I looked at him and said, "Let it be so now, John. This is the right thing to do — to fulfill all righteousness."
I didn't need to be baptized because I had sins to wash away. I didn't have any. I did it to identify with every person who would ever follow me. I stepped into that water with YOU in mind — saying, "I'm with you. I'm one of you."
John agreed. I stepped deeper into the Jordan. The water rose around me. And I went under.
And then I came up.
What happened next is one of the most incredible moments in all of history.
The sky SPLIT OPEN. The heavens themselves ripped apart. And the Spirit of God came down like a dove — gently, beautifully, powerfully — and landed on me. The air changed. Everything changed.
Then — a VOICE from heaven that shook the atmosphere. My Father's voice. And He said:
"This is my Son, whom I love. With Him I am well pleased."
Before I preached a single sermon. Before I healed one person. Before I did ANYTHING — my Father said, "I love you. I'm proud of you."
That was my Father's voice. And what He said about me? He says the same about YOU.
You don't have to earn God's love. You don't have to be perfect first. Before you've done a single thing to prove yourself — God says, "That's my child. I love them. I am pleased with them."
Your identity doesn't come from your grades, your followers, or what anyone thinks. It comes from GOD. And He already decided — you are loved.
Thank you for walking through this series with me. From the angel visiting Mary, to the manger, to the shepherds and wise men, through Egypt and the temple and John's wild preaching — all the way to this moment at the Jordan.
This is just the beginning of my story. And the beginning of yours.
