The prophet Isaiah lived during some of the darkest days of Israel and Judah. Enemies closing in. Kings failing. And in the middle of that chaos, God gave Isaiah visions of the future — promises so specific that when they happened, there would be zero doubt God planned it all along.
Isaiah writes: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel" — which means "God with us."
