Hey friend! Alright — buckle up, because for these last two episodes, we're diving into one of the greatest stories in all of Genesis. It's got drama, betrayal, dreams, and one of the most jaw-dropping comebacks you'll ever hear. This is the story of Joseph.
Jacob — now named Israel — had twelve sons. But let's be honest... he had a favorite. Joseph. And he did not hide it. Jacob gave Joseph this amazing, colorful coat — a one-of-a-kind piece that screamed "this is my favorite kid." You can imagine how the other eleven brothers felt about that. Not great.
Then came the dreams. Joseph had a dream where he and his brothers were bundling up grain in a field, and all of their bundles bowed down to his. So what did Joseph do? He told them about it. Probably not the smartest move. Then he had ANOTHER dream — this time the sun, moon, and eleven stars all bowed down to him. Even his dad was like, "Okay, what is this supposed to mean?"
The brothers went from annoyed to jealous to full-on hatred. And one day, when Joseph came out to the fields to check on them, they saw him in the distance and said, "Here comes the dreamer. Let's kill him."
This story comes from Genesis 37-40 and is part of the Old Testament.
