PAUL'S ADVENTURES — EPISODE 8: SHIPWRECKED!

Buckle up — because this one is an absolute disaster movie. And every word of it is true.
Paul was being transported to Rome as a prisoner. He was on a ship with 275 other people — soldiers, sailors, and other prisoners — heading across the Mediterranean Sea. And Paul had warned them: "Men, I can see this voyage is going to end in disaster." But the captain ignored him. They sailed anyway.
Big mistake.
A hurricane-force wind called a northeaster slammed into them. The sky went black. Waves crashed over the deck. The crew threw cargo overboard to lighten the ship. They wrapped ropes around the hull to keep it from splitting apart. For day after day after day, the storm raged. No sun. No stars. No way to navigate. Nothing but howling wind and mountains of water.
Fourteen days. Fourteen days of this nightmare. Everyone on board gave up hope. They stopped eating. They were convinced they were going to die.
And then Paul stood up.
Picture this — a prisoner, chained, soaking wet, standing on a pitching deck in the middle of a hurricane — and he says: "Men, take courage! Last night an angel of my God stood beside me and said, 'Don't be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar, and God has graciously given you the lives of everyone sailing with you.' So keep up your courage — because I have faith in God that it will happen exactly as He told me. But we will run aground on some island."
In the dead of night on day fourteen, the sailors sensed land. At dawn, they spotted a bay with a beach. They cut the anchors, hoisted a sail, and aimed for shore. The ship hit a sandbar and the bow stuck fast. The stern began to break apart under the pounding surf. Soldiers wanted to kill the prisoners so none could escape — but the centurion stopped them because he wanted to save Paul.
Then — everyone jumped. Some swam. Some grabbed planks. Some clung to pieces of the ship. And every single one of the 276 people made it to shore alive. Every. Single. One. Just like the angel said.
Oh — and once they reached the island of Malta, a viper bit Paul on the hand. He just shook it off into the fire. Not a scratch.
Here's your lesson: storms will come. Massive, terrifying, hope-crushing storms. But if God has made you a promise, that promise holds. The ship might break apart — but you will make it to shore.
