Hey kids! Buckle up, because today's story is INTENSE. It's wild, it's dramatic, and it shows you something really important about who I am and what I can do.
My disciples and I had just crossed the Sea of Galilee. We stepped out of the boat in a region called the Gerasenes, and IMMEDIATELY — I'm talking the second our feet hit the shore — a man came running at us from the tombs.
Not a house. The TOMBS. This man lived among the dead.
And he was terrifying. He screamed day and night. He cut himself with stones. People had tried to chain him up — chains, shackles, the works — and he SNAPPED them like thread. Nobody could control him. Nobody could help him. Everyone in the region was afraid of him.
But I wasn't.
He ran to me and fell on his knees. And the voice that came out of him? It wasn't really his. The demons inside him shrieked, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?! SWEAR you won't torture me!"
I asked, "What is your name?"
And the answer chilled everyone standing there: "My name is LEGION — for we are MANY."
Thousands of demons. In one man. That's how broken this situation was.
The demons begged me — BEGGED me — not to send them out of the region. There was a huge herd of pigs feeding on a nearby hillside, and they pleaded, "Send us into the pigs!" So I gave them permission. The demons came screaming out of the man and rushed into about two thousand pigs — and the entire herd stampeded down the steep bank and drowned in the sea.
When the townspeople came running to see what happened, they found the man who had terrorized their region sitting calmly, fully dressed, completely in his right mind. Talking normally. Peaceful.
And you know what? They were TERRIFIED. Not of the man — of ME. They actually asked me to LEAVE.
The healed man begged to come with me. But I had a different mission for him. I said, "Go home to your own people. Tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you."
And he did. He went through TEN cities telling everyone his story. His TESTIMONY became his ministry.
Here's what I want you to know: NOBODY is too far gone for me. No darkness is too deep. No chain is too strong. And once I set you free? Your story — what I brought you THROUGH — becomes the most powerful thing you have. Don't hide it. Share it.
Your testimony is your superpower.
