Hey kids! Welcome to the FINAL episode of our Miracles of Jesus series. And I saved something really special for last — because this isn't just ONE miracle. It's TWO. The same miracle, same man, same lake — but EVERYTHING is different. And that's the whole point.
Let's start at the BEGINNING of my ministry. I was standing by the Sea of Galilee, teaching a crowd so large they were practically pushing me into the water. I spotted two boats at the shore. One belonged to a fisherman named Simon — you know him as Peter. He'd been out ALL night and caught NOTHING. Zero. Empty nets.
I climbed into his boat, asked him to push out a little, and I taught the crowd from there. When I finished, I turned to Peter and said, "Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch."
Peter looked at me like I was out of my mind. He was a PROFESSIONAL fisherman. He'd been working all night. He knew these waters. But he said something that changed his life forever: "Master, because YOU say so, I will let down the nets."
And when he did? The nets filled with SO MANY fish they started BREAKING. He called his partners in the other boat — BOTH boats were so full they began to SINK. Fish everywhere. An impossible, ridiculous, overwhelming catch.
Peter fell to his knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord — I am a sinful man!" He was overwhelmed. Afraid. He felt unworthy.
I looked at him and said, "Don't be afraid. From now on, you will fish for people." And Peter left EVERYTHING — his boat, his nets, his career — and followed me.
Now fast forward. THREE YEARS later. After everything. After walking with me, denying me three times, watching me die on a cross, and seeing me rise from the dead. Peter is back at that SAME lake. And he says to the other disciples, "I'm going fishing."
All night. Nothing. Empty nets. Sound familiar?
At dawn, I was standing on the shore — but they didn't recognize me. I called out, "Friends, haven't you caught anything?"
"No."
"Throw your net on the RIGHT side of the boat."
They did. And the net was SO full of fish they couldn't haul it in — one hundred and fifty-three large fish, and the net STILL didn't break.
John turned to Peter and whispered, "It is the LORD."
And here's the moment I love: Peter didn't wait for the boat. He didn't calculate. He threw on his outer garment and JUMPED into the water, swimming as fast as he could to reach me. The same man who once said "Go away from me" was now LEAPING to get to me.
I had breakfast waiting on the shore. Charcoal fire. Bread. Fish. I fed them. And then I restored Peter with three simple questions: "Do you love me?" Three times — one for every time he denied me.
SAME miracle. SAME lake. SAME command. But a COMPLETELY different Peter. The first time, he ran away. The last time, he ran toward me. That's what walking with God does to you. It changes you from the inside out.
Here's my final message for you: I'm not done with you. The miracle at the beginning of your journey will look different than the one at the end — because YOU will be different. Keep following me. Keep casting your nets when I tell you to. And never forget — the God who called you is the same God who will finish what He started in you.
