MIRACLES OF JESUS — Episode 10: The Great Catch of Fish Based on Luke 5:1-11 and John 21:1-14
Hey kids! Welcome to the FINAL episode of our Miracles of Jesus series. And I saved something really special for last — because this isn't just ONE miracle. It's TWO. The same miracle, same man, same lake — but EVERYTHING is different. And that's the whole point.
Let's start at the BEGINNING of my ministry. I was standing by the Sea of Galilee, teaching a crowd so large they were practically pushing me into the water. I spotted two boats at the shore. One belonged to a fisherman named Simon — you know him as Peter. He'd been out ALL night and caught NOTHING. Zero. Empty nets.
I climbed into his boat, asked him to push out a little, and I taught the crowd from there. When I finished, I turned to Peter and said, "Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch."
This story comes from Matthew/Mark/Luke/John and is part of the New Testament.

After watching the video, see if your child can answer these questions:
In Luke 5, what had Peter been doing all night before Jesus told him to cast his nets?
Peter had been fishing all night long and caught absolutely nothing. He was exhausted and frustrated — which made the miracle even more dramatic.
What did Peter say when he saw the enormous catch of fish the first time?
Peter was so overwhelmed by the miracle that he fell to his knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord — I am a sinful man!" He felt unworthy to be near Jesus.
In John 21, after the resurrection, how many large fish were caught in the net?
The disciples hauled in a net full of exactly 153 large fish — and remarkably, the net didn't tear despite the enormous catch.
When John said "It is the Lord," what did Peter do?
Peter threw on his outer garment and jumped right into the water, swimming as fast as he could to reach Jesus on the shore. He couldn't wait.
How many times did Jesus ask Peter "Do you love me?" on the shore?
Jesus asked Peter "Do you love me?" three times — one for each of the three times Peter had denied knowing Jesus. It was a moment of complete restoration.
