In our last episode, we talked about the gospel — how salvation is a gift. Today, I want to show you what happens after you receive that gift. Because once you're mine, nothing can take you away from me. Nothing.
Paul wrote some of the most powerful words ever put on paper. And I want to walk through them with you — slowly — because I want every word to sink in.
He starts here: "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him."
All things. Not just the easy things. Not just the fun things. All things. That bad grade. That friendship that fell apart. That season when everything felt wrong. God is working in all of it. He doesn't waste anything. Every hard thing you've been through — he's weaving it into something good.
Then Paul asks the biggest question: "If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Think about that. The creator of the universe — the one who flung the stars into space and holds every atom together — is for you. He's on your side. He's in your corner. So who exactly is supposed to scare you?
And then comes the list. Paul starts naming everything that might try to come between you and my love: "Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword separate us?"
He's saying — what about when life gets really hard? What about when people are mean to you because you follow me? What about when you don't have enough? What about when you're in danger?
And here's his answer — and I want you to shout it in your heart: "In all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him who loved us."
Not just survivors. Not just barely making it. More than conquerors. You don't just get through the hard stuff — you come out victorious, because I am with you.
And Paul finishes with this — the greatest declaration of security ever written: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Read that list again. Death can't do it. Life can't do it. Angels can't. Demons can't. Nothing today. Nothing tomorrow. Nothing above you. Nothing below you. Nothing in all of creation.
Nothing can separate you from my love. Nothing. Ever.
That's not a wish. That's a promise. And I always keep my promises.
