KING DAVID'S REIGN — EPISODE 2: GOD'S PROMISE TO DAVID

Hey, friends! Last time, David danced the Ark right into Jerusalem. Today, something even bigger happens — God makes a promise that echoes through all of history. A promise that leads directly to Me.
David is settled in his beautiful cedar palace. And one night, it bothers him. He says to Nathan the prophet, "I am living in this gorgeous palace, but the Ark of God is sitting in a tent! I want to build God a house — a temple worthy of His name."
Nathan says, "Go ahead, do whatever is on your heart. God is with you." Sounds like a great plan, right?
But that night, God speaks to Nathan with a completely different message.
God says, "Go tell David — are you the one to build Me a house? I took you from the pasture, from following sheep, and made you ruler over My people. I have been with you everywhere you have gone."
And then — here comes the big moment — God flips the whole thing around. "David, you will not build Me a house. I will build YOUR house. When your life is over, I will raise up your offspring after you. He will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. FOREVER."
Did you catch that? Not for a hundred years. Not for a thousand years. Forever.
David wanted to do something great for God. But God said, "Your plans are too small. Let Me show you Mine." David's son Solomon would build the temple, yes. But this promise reached way beyond Solomon — across centuries, through generations, all the way to a manger in Bethlehem.
Because friends — I am that descendant. I am the forever King from David's line. The throne God promised? It is Mine. And My kingdom will never, ever end.
When David heard this, he sat before the Lord and prayed: "Who am I, Lord God, that You have brought me this far?" Pure awe. Pure gratitude. No arguments — just worship.
Here is the lesson: sometimes you have a plan for God, but God has a bigger plan for you. David wanted to build a building. God wanted to build a dynasty. David was thinking cedar and stone. God was thinking eternity. Trust God's plan, friends — even when it looks nothing like yours. It is always bigger.
