What Is the Story of Gods Presence for Kids?
Hey, friends! Welcome to the final episode of our Exodus journey. We've saved the best for last. Everything — the plagues, the Passover, the Red Sea, the manna, the commandments, even the golden calf — it all leads to this moment.
After the golden calf mess, Moses did something bold. He said to God, "If your presence doesn't go with us, don't send us anywhere." He didn't ask for an easier road or a bigger army. He asked for GOD. Without God's presence, nothing else mattered.
Then Moses went further: "Show me your glory." He wanted to SEE God. And God said, "I'll pass by you, but you can't see my face — no one can and live. I'll put you in a crack in the rock and cover you with my hand, and you'll see my back." And that's what happened. God's glory passed by Moses, and God declared His own name: "The Lord — compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, overflowing with love and faithfulness!" THAT is who God is. Not angry and distant. Compassionate. Overflowing with love.
God gave Moses new stone tablets to replace the shattered ones. A fresh start. That's what God does — He restores what's broken.
This story comes from Exodus 33-40 and is part of the Old Testament.
