What Is the Story of Let My People Go for Kids?
Alright, buckle up because things are about to get INTENSE.
So Moses finally says yes to God. He packs up, heads back to Egypt, meets up with his brother Aaron, and together they march right into Pharaoh's palace. Picture this -- two guys who grew up as nobodies walking into the most powerful throne room on Earth and saying five words that would change history:
Can you feel the tension? The whole court goes silent. Pharaoh looks at them like they've lost their minds. And his response? Basically: "Who is this God of yours? I don't know Him, and I'm definitely NOT letting your people go."
But Pharaoh doesn't stop there. Oh no. He decides to PUNISH the Israelites for even asking. He tells the slave drivers: "Stop giving them straw to make bricks. Make them find their own straw, but they still have to make the SAME number of bricks." That's like your teacher doubling your homework and taking away your pencils. Impossible!
This story comes from Exodus 5-7 and is part of the Old Testament.
