NAAMAN THE LEPER

Hey kids — today's story is about a man who had EVERYTHING — power, fame, armies, gold — but the ONE thing he couldn't fix was eating him alive. His name was Naaman. And this story is going to teach you something you'll never forget about humility.
Naaman was the commander of the entire Syrian army. Think five-star general. Kings respected him. Soldiers feared him. He had chariots, gold, servants — the works.
But Naaman had leprosy. A skin disease that slowly destroyed your body. Painful, humiliating, and incurable. The greatest warrior in Syria was being defeated by his own skin.
Now here's where it gets interesting. In Naaman's household, there was a young Israelite girl — a servant captured in a raid. Just a kid. But she had FAITH. She told Naaman's wife, "If only my master would go to the prophet in Israel — he would cure him."
A slave girl. Giving advice to the most powerful military man in the region. And they LISTENED.
Naaman loaded up his chariots with silver, gold, and fancy clothes and rolled up to Elisha's house like a VIP. He expected a grand ceremony. Dramatic praying, waving of hands, a big production.
But Elisha didn't even come OUTSIDE. He just sent a messenger to the door with a simple instruction: "Go wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River, and your flesh will be restored."
Naaman was FURIOUS. "Are you kidding me?! I thought he would come out, call on his God, wave his hand over me! And the Jordan? That muddy river? We have WAY better rivers back in Syria!"
He stormed off in a rage. But his servants ran after him: "Sir, if the prophet told you to do something difficult, wouldn't you have done it? How much more when he simply says, 'Wash and be clean'?"
That stopped Naaman cold. He swallowed his pride, went to the Jordan, and dipped. Once. Twice. Three times. Four. Five. Six. Nothing. And then — the SEVENTH time — his skin was COMPLETELY clean. Smooth and fresh like a little child's. Totally healed.
Naaman rushed back and declared, "Now I know there is no God in all the world except the God of Israel!"
Here's the lesson: God's solutions often seem too simple. Too ordinary. But humility and obedience beat pride EVERY single time. The miracle is waiting on the other side of doing the thing you think is too small.
