Let me tell you about the day everything changed — again.
Ten days of waiting. Ten days of prayer. One hundred and twenty believers packed into an upper room in Jerusalem, trusting a promise they did not fully understand. And then — the day of Pentecost arrived.
Suddenly — and I mean SUDDENLY — a sound came from heaven like a violent, rushing wind. Not a gentle breeze. A ROAR. It filled the entire house where they were sitting. And then something appeared that no one could explain: what looked like tongues of FIRE separated and rested on each person. Every single one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.
Immediately, they began to speak in OTHER languages — languages they had never learned. Not gibberish. Real, actual languages. And here is the incredible part: Jerusalem was packed with Jewish people from every nation on earth — Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Cappadocia, Egypt, Rome, Crete, Arabia — and every single one of them heard the gospel in their OWN language.
Do you remember the Tower of Babel from Genesis? Humanity tried to reach heaven on their own, and God confused their languages and scattered them. Pentecost was the REVERSAL of Babel. At Babel, languages divided people. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit united them. Every nation. Every tongue. One message. One gospel.
The crowd was amazed and confused. "What does this mean?" some asked. Others mocked them: "They are just drunk!"
And that is when Peter stepped up.
Peter. The fisherman who denied me three times. The guy who sank in the water because he got scared. THAT Peter stood in front of THOUSANDS of people and preached the boldest sermon in history. He said: "This is what the prophet Joel spoke about! God is pouring out His Spirit on all people! And this Jesus you crucified — God raised Him from the dead. We are ALL witnesses of it."
The crowd was cut to the heart. "What should we do?" they cried.
Peter said: "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Three THOUSAND people were saved that day. In ONE day.
This was my plan all along. Not just twelve disciples — millions. The Holy Spirit turned scared followers into world-changers. The coward who denied me three times became the preacher who brought thousands to their knees. And the same Holy Spirit that set Peter on fire that day? He is available to you RIGHT NOW.
LESSON: The same Holy Spirit who empowered Peter and the first believers at Pentecost is available to every believer today. He turns fear into boldness, weakness into strength, and ordinary people into world-changers.
